Yellowstone National Park is known for its hot springs. Perforated Pool Hot Spring is not the most popular, but it grabbed the artist's attention immediately as she saw white and black mineral deposits cresting the turquoise blue waters. She chose an abstract angle for this painting to draw the viewer's eye along the white and black edge of the hot spring and into the scene.
